ROMULUS TEACHES US ABOUT PLAYFULNESS!!
One half of the dubious duo, Romulus arrived at St. Francis Wolf Sanctuary in 2009 at the approximate age of four months. He and his brother, Remus were rescued from the north Texas area. The boys were heard whimpering in the yard. A neighbor contacted the St. Francis Wolf Sanctuary. They were found CHAINED without food or water. Both were dehydrated and starving. The neighbor saved their lives.
What a wonderful addition the dubious duo are for the sanctuary. Upon their arrival, the boys were placed with shy, timid Rafiki. Romulus, Remus and Rafiki all grew from this experience, and Romulus and Remus settled into their new home.
Romulus has grown into a beautiful, playful wolf dog. He is a favorite with the volunteers and visitors!! His mischievous spirit is quite entertaining. The names Romulus and Remus were chosen to honor the “memory” of the Founders of Ancient Rome, who were believed to have been raised by wolves.
