"It was never my intention to have a Sanctuary for Wolves and Wolf-dogs. However, my experience is that there are
no accidents, and even coincidences may be best described as situations in which God chooses to remain anonymous."

Tala was found running near a bayou in Houston and taken home by a good person. However, wolves RARELY MAKE GOOD PETS, and he was unable to keep her. Another friend then tried—with the same results. Tala was lucky. Both rescuers actually cared about her!!! One contacted the St. Francis Wolf Sanctuary and we welcomed our little beauty.

Tala is very sweet, loves to share mud rolls—usually with her companion. She also welcomes visitors who may also enjoy rolling in the mud with a couple of wolves. We hope she will (eventually) make a good Ambassador— together with Remus and Romulus.

Shortly after she arrived, a naming contest was held during Open House here at the sanctuary. Tala, the winning name’s Native American meaning is “wolf” or “wolf princess”.
